Jill of All Trades event at NAIT gives hands-on introduction to women
In a welding shop at NAIT, the 15-year-old used the flame from a welding torch to cut out the shape of a cat from a thick piece of metal. After the ferrous feline was freed from the sheet, she lifted her protective helmet and inspected her creation. She says it’s the first time she’s ever worked with a tool like that.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) on Thursday hosted 200 female students, including some from Yellowknife, N.W.T., for a job fair focused on the trades.
